It’s been a little quiet these last few weeks as far as me sharing pictures of the boys. We are moved into our new house! (More on that later!) but still settling in. I still have to paint the studio (and other parts of the house, but that’s up first!) and then I can begin sharing some pictures with you all.
Eli is speaking in sentences (or as best as he can) and he LOVES slurpies. David took him to get one the other day and the cashier took it to ring up and he goes, “Slurpie back me please” in this little voice.. ha! Watching him transform from a ‘baby’ to a ‘boy’ is so fun. (and so sad at the same time!) He is the most observant child, and is too smart for his own good. We are really working on him stopping when I say “freeze!” and he does okay with that most of the time. He finally started saying “I love you” — for the longest time (until about a month ago!) he would just look at you and smile with a little twinkle in his eye when you said it to him. And since he could say “vacuum,” “bathroom,” and a handful of other words I thought were challenging, I KNEW he was just playing us by not saying it. Little stinker. But now he will say it and hug or kiss you. My heart melts every time.
And.. my sweet baby Luke. I am so happy to report that I can put him down for a few minutes and he plays peacefully. That came about a month ago as well, when he started taking longer naps (he’s at two but sometimes just one a day with a catnap in the car if we are out- and he sleeps all night 8P-6:30A without us hearing a peep from him!) He still shows his grumpy baby face but we are all smiles most of the time. He gets up in the crawl position and rocks, so it’s only a matter of time. He also does the push up plank position which I think is too cute. Sitting will probably happen in the next few weeks, he’s getting more stable but not enough for me not to be right behind him. He LOVES to eat and weighs almost 20 pounds! He doesn’t have a favorite food, because he will eat anything I give him. But he definitely tries to do it all himself and so I think he really enjoys when I do frozen fruit in those mesh pouches. Teeth will be popping up any day, you can see where they’re trying to come up!
I love this little series that I do with them.. I think we will do it until.. college maybe? It’s so simple and just captures them as they are right now.
Ahh.. Look how they’ve grown!
