Boudoir/Glamour Session Giveaway

As I’m sitting here getting ready to share information on how you can win a boudoir/glamour session and look all glamorous — I get spit up on.  Thanks Luke!

In 2013 one of my goals is to figure out what side of the business I want to specialize in. I’m not saying I will turn down other sessions but I really want to figure where my passion is and dive in.  When I think about that boudoir is always at the top of the list (as are newborns.. is that a coincidence or just strategic marketing? ha!) There is just something about having a woman get her hair & make up done, and then capturing the beauty she either didn’t know she had OR has long forgotten about.  We assume many roles as women and rarely do we put ourselves first.

In saying that.. NOW is the time to think about yourselves ladies!!

The winner will be announced March 1st by random number generated by the comments.  You will provide your outfits but I will arrange hair/makeup at a local salon (Hair Kare-N-Co.. check them out in Chester!) – you will also receive 5 digital files!  You can do a boudoir OR a glamour session (the main difference is the clothing choices- you bring what you are most comfortable in)

To enter to win is VERY simple!
1.  Go to Facebook and on your status type, “Megan Garrison Photography is giving away a boudoir or glamour session and I want to win it!”  Now, make sure it tags my business page (In order for it to do that, make sure you “like” the page and then put “@” before starting to type the page name, it will look like this, @Megan Garrison Photography (no space between “@” & “M”)

2. Come back here and leave a comment saying you’ve typed that on your status. (leave your e-mail too so I can e-mail you if you are the winner!) 

You can enter to win ONCE a day between now and the 28th! Simply put that as your status once a day and then come here and leave a comment saying you made it your status.

(PS if you are wanting a boudoir session but prefer your MIL not know, just put “glamour” session on your status.. chances are she did a glamour session in the 80s.. but trust me yours will be 10x better!!)

This family is ridiculously good looking.  I hope that my boys are as good with portraits as these two are! (Currently, they are NOT! But I’m sure it will come with age..right?)  This was one of my favorite fall sessions this year and due to the whirlwind of life the past few months I’m just now getting around to sharing the images on the blog!  I hope you enjoy:)

Meet Luke { Personal

As I sit here typing this Luke is in my lap.  David calls him my little teddy bear because rarely is he not in my arms- Luke still thinks he should be in the womb and doesn’t like to be put down for more than a few minutes at a time.. which, I admit- I DO love… just don’t come too close because I might smell (did I really just say that on the INTERNET?!? I’m totally kidding.. unless of course you’ve had a baby like Luke and know that I’m actually serious)

Luke arrived via c-section on January 3, 2013.  I can honestly say recovering from this has been WAY easier than my natural (4th degree tear!) childbirth with my first three week early 8 pound 10 ounce baby  (Luke was 8 pounds 6 ounces and also three weeks early!)  I remember telling our doctor (Dr. Moore at James River OBGYN- Go see him ladies!) how awesome he was during the surgery. We love love love that practice and everyone there.

Luke was definitely one of my more difficult newborn “clients” every. single. time I would put him down he’d wake up and fuss until I picked him up and immediately he would fall asleep again.. and we’d do this for an hour and I’d be defeated and we’d try again later.  I know that being way sleep deprived and recovering from surgery made me lose the battles some days..but as always, I won the war:-) Take a peek into a few of my favorite newborn pictures of baby Luke.

App Spotlight: Vine

If you are my friend on Facebook you may have seen a few Vine videos pop up in your feed from me– Vine is the latest and super fun video sharing App.. but there’s a catch, you only get to shoot for SIX seconds!!  You can shoot different scenes within that timeframe and really get creative with your videos.  It also saves them to your phone (which I’m thinking will be SO cool to put them all together at the end of the month/year.)  I am one of the biggest advocates of documenting your life through technology. (As you may have noticed if you follow me on instagram – meggarrison)  One day you may forget the sounds that your newborn makes when he sleeps or the big belly laughs of your toddler, but using this App you can forever document little snippets of your daily life.

35 weeks { Personal

FACTS:
I am 35 weeks & 5 days pregnant.
Saturday I will be 36 weeks.
My due date is January 19th.
I’ve had preterm labor since 30 weeks.
I was monitored Tuesday with contractions coming every few minutes (varied from 3-10 minutes apart) basically all day- yesterday I was super sore/tired and felt like I had run a marathon, but today was better with not as many contractions.
Tuesday I was only 1CM dilated
As of today when I saw the DR I am 2 CM dilated
(I really hope those last two lines aren’t TMI! Some people like to know ALL the stats to guess, ha!)

So my question to you is…. 
What day do YOU think Luke will arrive and what do you think his stats will be?
(Eli arrived at 37w4d  and weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces)

Winner will receive a gift card to Starbucks or Target!

A few pictures from Tuesday when we were monitored..

He’s holding on to his foot..so cute! He has one foot/hand down by his head and one set up in my ribs- I wouldn’t be comfortable in that position but I guess he doesn’t have much of a choice now!
